I have experienced several different enterprise email services in recent years.
Alibaba Enterprise Email#
This is the earliest one I used, and I don't remember which year it was. It seems that I got a trial version of the enterprise email for free when I bought a domain name. I used it for about a year. At that time, there was one thing about the contact management in Alibaba Enterprise Email that I didn't like: each contact could only belong to one group, but I often encountered situations where one person belonged to multiple groups. This made it difficult for me to use, so I switched to another service.
Tencent Enterprise Email#
This is the enterprise email service I have used for the longest time, and I think it provides the best user experience. I am very satisfied with its email sending, receiving, contact management, WeChat notifications, and anti-spam mechanisms. I have been using it for about 5 years and have no complaints.
However, the price has been increasing over time, from 600 yuan per year initially to 750 yuan per year, and now it seems to be 900 yuan per year. Personally, I find this price a bit hard to accept. So, I reluctantly decided to stop using it for now.
The weirdest thing about Tencent Enterprise Email, in my opinion, is its renewal process: when my subscription was about to expire last time, although it was expensive, I still wanted to continue using it. However, when I logged into the backend, I couldn't find the renewal function anywhere. So, I didn't renew it.
Huawei Enterprise Email#
While using Tencent Enterprise Email, I also briefly tried Huawei Cloud's enterprise email service when it was just launched. It was very cheap, only 300 yuan per year.
However, when I tried Huawei Enterprise Email in the early stages, I found the interface and features to be quite outdated, so I quickly stopped using it.
I don't know if Huawei Enterprise Email has improved now.
Zoho Enterprise Email#
This is the worst enterprise email service I have ever used, without a doubt.
Zoho Enterprise Email is the cheapest, only costing 150 yuan per year. Unlike Tencent, which requires a minimum purchase of 5 VIP users, Zoho allows starting from 1 user, which I was very satisfied with in terms of pricing and settings.
However, the experience later made me completely give up on renewing:
- Spam emails were everywhere. In addition to Zoho's own promotional emails, there were many scam and advertisement emails. Zoho's spam filtering mechanism seemed to never work, and I even suspected that there was a leak of email addresses. Otherwise, I wouldn't have started receiving various scam emails on a large scale and frequently after using Zoho Enterprise Email.
- Attachment management. I continued to use it despite the spam emails until one day I found out that I didn't receive an email sent by my superior, while others did. I immediately contacted customer service, and they replied that the attachment was a zip file, and according to the terms of service, they couldn't accept or send emails with zip attachments. Of course, the terms also specified other formats that couldn't be used as attachments. After seeing the reply, I decided not to use Zoho's enterprise email because I couldn't guarantee the attachment formats used by the senders. Not receiving important emails without any notification would have a significant impact on me.
- Backend management. I found the backend management logic of Zoho Enterprise Email to be very confusing, and I often couldn't find the functions I needed.
Netease Enterprise Email and Feishu Enterprise Email#
Netease Enterprise Email and Feishu Email are provided by the company. I have only used them for a short period of time, and they are not my primary email services, so I don't have much experience to write about for now. If I use them more in the future and if necessary, I will add more information.
My primary email services now are Gmail and Outlook.
I registered Gmail a long time ago and used it on and off before gradually making it my primary email service.
I use Outlook because I purchased Office 365. Overall, Outlook is fine, but last year I encountered a strange phenomenon: it often sent a particular email to the junk folder. I tried moving the email out, adding the sender to the whitelist, and setting up rules, but it didn't work. Outlook persistently kept moving that email to the junk folder.
I still don't understand why Outlook does that.
I might use other enterprise email services in the future, such as hey.com, or I might switch back to Tencent Enterprise Email. I haven't made a final decision yet.
